Liberty Mines Partnering With Wabun First Nations

РSeptember 19, 2007 the Wabun First Nations of Mattagami, Matachewan  and Wahgoshig sign a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with Liberty Mines Inc.
– The MOU addresses the traditional rights of the First Nations and sets the framework for discussion and negotiation of an Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA).
– September 2007 Liberty Mines Inc. hosts a Grand Opening for its Redstone Nickel Concentrator Mill Facility with the support of Wabun First Nations.
РApril 15, 2008 the Wabun First Nations of Matachewan, Mattagami and Wahgoshig sign an Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA) with Liberty Mines Inc.  This is the first IBA signed by First Nations with a resource based company in the Timmins area.
– The IBA provides a balance of social, cultural and environmental interests for the First Nations.
– The agreement provides an outline to address First Nation traditional rights related to exploration, development and mining operations on Liberty Mines properties in the Shaw Dome mining area.
– The agreement provides for job training, employment, scholarships, business relationships and financial participation in community development projects.
– July 2008 Liberty Mines provides employment for First Nation Impact Benefit Agreement Coordinator position.
